Membership Benefits –
At Post 66, our community of members consists of a variety of success stories. Typically members find the following to be most valuable in their experience at the Post -

Membership Requirements
Requirements to join the American Legion
Important: Everyone must submit a copy of DD 214 or Discharge.

THE FORM CAN BE FOUND HERE — American Legion Application
Eligible veterans applying for first time membership must submit the following information to Post Adjutant:
- Complete the American Legion Membership application. (Applications are available at the Post)
- COPY OF DD214 DISCHARGE

- Dues - $40 per year
- If the information is correct, membership will be approved and then a membership card will be mailed to you.
- All Veterans with an Honorable Discharge are welcome
Transfers
Veterans applying for transfers from your current Post to our Post 66 must submit the following:
- Completed Member Data Form.
- COPY OF DD214 OR DISCHARGE
- COPY OF MEMBERSHIP CARD
- Membership dues payment, if current year dues are not paid.

If you would like to become a member of the American Legion, and we would like you to join us here at DeKalb Post 66 - if you meet the selection requirements as established by National American Legion Office (see membership section).
